Jason Block

Jason opened the US office for ICG in May 2007. Prior to joining ICG, Jason was a Partner at AlpInvest Partners where he built the mezzanine platform and invested two global mezzanine funds comprising approximately $700 million in 30 mezzanine investments.  From 1994 until joining AlpInvest in 2002, Jason was a member of the CIBC World Markets organization and it predecessor firm, The Argosy Group. At CIBC, he was a Managing Director and portfolio manager for Caravelle Advisors (an affiliated market value CDO manager) where he was principally responsible for investing the high yield, mezzanine and equity portfolio. He was also a member of CIBC’s leverage finance/sponsor coverage group specializing in structuring high yield securities, investing in special situations securities and advising on mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining The Argosy Group, he worked in the media group for Kidder Peabody & Co. Jason received his B.A. degree, graduating magna cum laude, from Colgate University.
